Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program – ADSAP
The ADSAP Program deals with the issue of substance use and driving. It is mandatory in South Carolina to attend if you are convicted of DUI. Each client is individually assessed and receives education or an appropriate level of treatment to address the risk of an additional DUI.
Outpatient Services
The Outpatient Services provides individual, family, or group counseling for persons suffering from addiction and/or abuse involving alcohol or other drugs.
Youth and Adolescent Services
The Youth and Adolescent Services are designed to educate youth ages 13 – 17 who are either abusing alcohol and other drugs or demonstrating behavior patterns that may put them at risk for substance use. The major referral sources to this program are the school system and the Department of Juvenile Justice; however, parents may also refer their children if they observe any signs of substance use or high-risk behavior.
Prevention
The Prevention Program is designed to educate the public of the complex nature of addiction. Prevention conducts workshops on such issues as drug abuse, tobacco abuse, alcohol abuse, fetal alcohol syndrome, addiction, and stress management. Prevention partners with all youth group organizations, community agencies, and churches to educate the public of risks associated with alcohol tobacco, and drug use. Other services provided under prevention are information dissemination, educational presentations, health fair, prevention activities with adult populations and a lending library.
